I've recently decided to change my sedentary lifestyle to a much more active and healthier one. I love to incorporate different kinds of exercise, however running is one of my favorites. Because I live in one of the snowiest cities in the United States, running outside 365 days a year is never feasible. Therefore, I spend a lot of time on the

I am an avid telemark ski patroller. I've been a certified ski patroller since 2009. In addition to skiing, I also enjoy snowshoeing, sledding, and making snowmen, followed by dark chocolate hot cocoa and marshmallows ;) .

I also really hate weighing myself. Some people may not agree with this, but I would rather see improvements in my sprint times than on the scale. I feel that weighing yourself can become an obsessive and frustrating habit (although I'm not saying this happens to everyone) and I don't believe it's healthy for your self-esteem or your overall progress. I always feel very discouraged when I don't see the scale moving down, so I've decided to focus my attention on becoming a better runner.
